Kickstarter

The 11 add-ons, valued

Data last checked: · how we verify numbers

Eleven add-ons rode along with the tiers, priced £13–£167, and eight of them were Kickstarter exclusives [official]. The campaign’s pitch — “upgrade your tier to SAVE UP TO 30% OFF THE INDIVIDUAL PRICING” [official Hive add-on graphic] — rests on real arithmetic, but its baseline is the sum of individual add-on prices, not the retail price [our analysis from official prices]. There is deliberately nothing to click here: every channel that sold these items is closed, so the page is a record for understanding the pricing and for judging any resale listing you meet.

Warning

No purchase CTA on this page, on purpose. The campaign closed 2026-07-23 and the late-pledge window closed 2026-10-09 [official, Update #18]; see where to buy for what is actually open today. Prices below are the officially checked GBP figures, kept for the record.

The 11 add-ons, priced and judged

All 11 campaign add-ons — official GBP prices, exclusivity, shipping wave and our per-item verdict [official prices; verdicts are ours]
Add-onOfficial priceKickstarter exclusiveShipsIs it worth it?
Extra copy of the game£58NoOctober 2026Only as a second table’s copy — priced at tier level, it never discounted.
A5 foil Art Print£21YesOctober 2026The cheapest exclusive and the campaign’s hook — withdrawn from late pledges, so it is now the rarest of the small items.
Commemorative Pin£13YesOctober 2026Free to pre-launch email subscribers who backed; £13 + tax to make up later. A keepsake, not a game piece.
Deluxe Box Sleeve£21YesOctober 2026Decorative, and the most mocked item — a D− review led with its converted price in the title. It is a sleeve that covers the gold-foil box it protects.
Wooden Token Upgrade Set, 25 pieces£19YesOctober 2026The feel upgrade that changes no rules — worthwhile for a frequent table.
Protective Card Sleeve Set, 160 sleeves£17YesOctober 2026The practical one. This is a deck-builder with 100+ illustrated cards; sleeves cover the main pool and survive the shuffling that wears cards out.
Player Pin Set, 5 enamel pins£25NoOctober 2026Pure decoration — and the only Guardian extra that is not an exclusive.
Metal Player Pawn Upgrade Set, 23 pawns£38YesMarch 2027The heaviest upgrade, riding the second shipment; metal samples were shown in Update #12.
Dumbledore’s Army Upgrade Set, 4 metal counters£17YesMarch 2027Nice, not necessary — four coins that duplicate cardboard counters.
Luxury Token Bag£17YesMarch 2027A storage bag at collector prices — the upgrade least defensible on play value.
Signed Artist’s Portfolio, hand-signed by Mina and Lima£167YesMarch 2027The collector’s real item: six monochrome prints plus one colour print in a marbled hardcover. Alone it exceeds the entire Guardian-to-Collector step, £165.

GBP governed; dollars were only display

Rulebook check

Kickstarter prices campaigns in one currency and converts for display. Here the governing currency was GBP; the dollar figures on the page were visitor-converted approximations that moved with the exchange rate — the campaign graphic priced the Signed Artist’s Portfolio at about $220 while the live page showed $222 at our check [official; checked 2026-10-12] — and Hive’s own checkout note states charges are made in GBP [official Hive page]. The table above shows only the GBP prices that govern.

The SAVE 30% arithmetic, shown

The official math: buying the same contents individually costs more than the tier upgrades — “up to 30%” [official Hive add-on graphic]. Here is that arithmetic from the official prices [our analysis from official prices]:

Kickstarter-speak

“SAVE 30%” is not a claim against the shop price. The recommended retail price is £75 including UK VAT, base game only [official FAQ] — measured against that, the Defender’s saving was 22.7% [our arithmetic]. The 30% badge only holds for the Collector, and only when every bundled item is credited at its individual add-on price. The two late-pledge rows show what removing the £21 Art Print did to the maths: the Guardian’s bundle discount fell from 28.6% to 17.9%, and the late Defender was a base game at base-game price.

Two bundle observations worth keeping [our arithmetic]: the Guardian’s £57 step bought £82 of items — so a backer wanting sleeves, wooden tokens and the box sleeve but not the pins could match the tier price exactly, getting the £25 pin set effectively free; and the Collector’s £165 step bought £239 of items, of which the signed portfolio alone was £167 — the step is really a signed artwork purchase with metal upgrades attached.

If you want one of these now

  • Exclusives never reprint. The FAQ’s position is that the exclusive items carry “Kickstarter Exclusive pricing that will not be available in regular retail” [official FAQ].
  • Leftovers may surface — small and unscheduled. After fulfilment, remaining exclusive stock “may be sold at limited events, House of MinaLima locations, and activations” [official FAQ]. Low probability; not a channel to plan around.
  • The secondary market forms from roughly November 2026, once delivered boxes arrive — zero listings existed on 2026-10-12 [our check]. Expect premiums on exclusives and discounts on base-game copies as 2027 retail scales [our estimate]. The hand-signed portfolio is the counterfeit target; demand provenance [our analysis].
  • Ask, don’t assume. For anything Hive-related, the support ticket at bit.ly/DOHsupport is the definitive channel [official].
